Henry made his debut in 1994 with French-club Monaco. After 5 years with the club he decided to sign for the Serie A defending-champs, Juventus. His time at Juventus was super short, ‘one season’ short. The reason for the shortness was due to limited playing time and disagreement within the club’s hierarchy. After his year, he decided to jump ship to England and sign for Arsenal. Under long-time mentor and coach, Arsene Wenger, Henry became a prolific striker and Arsenal’s all-time leading scorer with 228 goals in all competitions. He won the Premier League Golden Boot a record four times, won three FA Cups and two Premier League titles, including one during an unbeaten invincible season. TT spent his final two seasons as the club’s captain leading them to the 2006 UEFA Champions League Final.

In 2007, Henry transferred to Barcelona. In the 2008-2009 season, he was a key part of the Barcelona team that won the treble – winning La Liga (Spain’s top league tittle), the Copa del Rey (Spain’s domestic cup tournament), and the UEFA Champions League.

Henry found success with the French-national team, winning the 1998 FIFA World Cup, the 2000 UEFA Euros and the 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup. He was named French Player of the Year a record of five times, named to the UEFA Euro 2000 Team of the Tournament, awarded both 2003 FIFA Confederations cup Golden Ball and Golden Shoe, and named to the 2006 FIFA World Cup All-Star Team.

In 2010, he joined MLS club New York Red Bulls and returned to Arsenal on loan from January to February 2012, before deciding to retire n 2014. After retirement, Henry transitioned into coaching. He began coaching the Arsenal youth teams in February 2015. In 2016, he was appointed as an assistant coach at Belgium, before taking the head coach role at Monaco in 2018. He was ‘let-go’ as coach at Monaco in January 2019 and returned to MLS less than a year later to manage Montreal Impact. He led Montreal to the playoffs in the 2020 season before departing in 2021.

MONACO

In 1990, a Monaco scout by the name of Arnold Catalano went to watch a then 13-year old Henry in a match. Henry scored all six goals as his side won 6-0. Henry was asked to join Monaco without having to go through a trial. Catalano requested Henry to complete a course through the elite INF Clairefontaine academy, despite the director's reluctance to admit Henry due to his poor school grades, he was allowed to complete the course and join Arsene Wenger's Monaco. Henry made his professional debut on August 31, 1994 in a 2-0 loss against Nice.

In 1996, he awas named French Footballer of the Year, and in 1996-97 season, his solid performance helped the club win the Ligue 1 title. During the 1997-98 season, he helped Monaco reach the semi-final of the Champion's League. He set the French record, that was broken since, by scoring 7 goals in the competition. He got called-up to the France national team after his third season in Monaco and was part of the World Cup winning team in 1998. In his five season at the club, Henry scored 20 league goals in 205 appearances.

JUVENTUS

Henry moved to the Italian club for a fee of 10.5 million pounds. He played on the wing, as well as at wing back and wide midfield, but he was ineffective as a goal scorer, struggling against the defensive discipline exhibeted by teams in Serie A, registering just three goals in 16 appearances.

ARSENAL

On August 3, 1999, Henry moved from Juventus to Arsenal for a fee of 11 million pounds, reuniting with his former manager Arsene Wenger. Henry was moulded into the striker he is well-known for by Wegner during his time at Arsenal. During his first season, he ended the season with a tally of 26 goals while finishing second just behind Manchester United. They also lost at the UEFA Cup Final agaisnt Galastasaray.

During his second season, Henry was still not able to help Arsenal win silverware. Finsihing second, again, behind Manchester United and losing in the FA Cup final 2-1 against Liverpool. In 2002-2003, silverware finally came. Arsenal finished 7 points above Liverpool to win the Premier League and they beat Chelsea 2-0 in the FA Cup final.

BARCELONA F.C.

In 2007, in a schocking turn of events, Arsenal would sell Henry to Spanish giants, FC Barcelona for a fee of 24 million Euros. During his tenure at Barcelona, he helped barcelona win the sextuple - La Liga, Copa del Rey, Champion's League, Spanish Super Cup, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

NEW YORK RED BULLS

In July 2010, Henry made his move to the MLS side - New York Red Bulls. Henry's first MLS goal came against San Jose Earthquakes. New York would go ahead and top the MLS Eastern Conference by one point over Colombus Crew. New York will eventually lose to San Jose Earthquake in the quarter-finals. Next season, New York ranked 10th overall in hte league, and bowed out in the Conference semi-finals of the 2011 MLS Cup Playoffs.
